Juba | Almalakia FC battled to a dramatic 3–2 victory over Al-Hilal FC in the South Sudan Premier League on Thursday, with striker Faizoal Sswanyna the hero after scoring twice, including the late winner.
The match began at a frantic pace. Al-Hilal stunned the home crowd in the 6th minute when Ramadan Charles fired past the goalkeeper to give the visitors an early lead. Almalakia responded with wave after wave of pressure but were left frustrated until midway through the first half. Against the run of play, Al-Hilal doubled their advantage in the 35th minute through Fodul Nasaraldin, who slotted in calmly after a quick counterattack.
Almalakia refused to fold. Forward Abraham Thou pulled one back in the 64th minute, sparking belief and lifting the tempo. That momentum grew as Sswanyna struck his first of the night in the 78th minute, leveling the score at 2–2. Just two minutes later, he pounced again — this time with a composed finish inside the box — sealing a memorable turnaround for the hosts.
The late comeback secured all three points for Almalakia, who showed resilience and attacking flair under pressure. For Al-Hilal, it was a bitter defeat after leading for much of the contest.
With the league still in its early stages, the result pushes Almalakia into the upper half of the table, while Al-Hilal are left to regroup.
