November 11, 2025, JUBA — The Government of South Sudan has announced the official resumption of Cabinet sessions on Friday, November 14, 2025, marking a significant step in reactivating government operations following a period of recess or procedural suspension.

In a directive issued by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Minister Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro has also called on all ministers to participate in a compulsory induction training scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs main hall. The training will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

According to the statement, the induction aims to “reactivate and refresh understanding of governance procedures and Cabinet decision-making processes” as ministers prepare to engage in new Cabinet activities. The ministry emphasized that the refresher course is critical to ensuring that all ministers are aligned with current administrative expectations and legislative frameworks.

The letter, addressed to the Managing Director of South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), seeks wide media dissemination of the announcement. It urges SSBC to broadcast the information across radio and television platforms to ensure all ministers and concerned stakeholders are fully informed.

This move is seen as an effort to instill procedural discipline and promote institutional coherence amid ongoing political and economic transitions in the country. As South Sudan continues to navigate challenges related to peace implementation, governance, and public sector reforms, the Ministry’s initiative is expected to improve efficiency and accountability within the Cabinet.

Observers say the induction is also symbolic, demonstrating the government’s attempt to restore routine functionality and transparency in the wake of recent political tensions and judicial controversies involving senior government officials and opposition leaders.

The announcement comes at a time when national focus is shifting toward rebuilding institutional capacity, especially within the executive arm, to fast-track service delivery and uphold the principles outlined in the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

The Ministry’s directive is signed and sealed by Dr. Lomuro and includes a reminder for the SSBC to file the communication for official record.
